How prices work

We keep it honest. A print costs us two things: the plastic (filament) and the time the printer runs. So that's how we price.

price = base fee + filament + print time + extra colors, then × how tricky it is, plus any add-on part
  • Filament and print time are the two real costs. We charge a little per gram of plastic and per hour the printer runs, so a bigger or longer print costs a bit more.
  • Extra colors add a little. Two colors are included; each color after that uses more plastic on swaps and needs watching.
  • Tricky prints cost a bit more. Small, simple, one or two-color prints (and school projects) are our lowest price. Lots of color changes, fine detail, or things that can fail and need a reprint are a step up.
  • Add-on parts cost extra. Some prints include a real part we buy and put in, like a keyboard clicker. That part is added on top of the print price.

Catalog prices are a starting point and your own custom ideas are premium. Either way, we confirm the exact price when we review your order.
